Study – Curcumin appears to be as effective as ibuprofen for arthritis pain relief. People with painful foot, ankle or knee arthritis preventing the health benefits of some exercise movement and proper sleep are especially aware how joint problems can harm one’s health in many ways.
The study consisted of 367 primary knee osteoarthritis patients with a pain score of 5 or higher were randomized to receive ibuprofen 1,200 mg/day or Curcuma domestica extracts 1,500 mg/day for 4 weeks.
The number of patients who developed adverse events was no different between the groups. However, the number of events of abdominal pain/discomfort was significantly higher in the ibuprofen group than that in the C. domestica extracts group…Most subjects (96%–97%) were satisfied with the treatment, and two-thirds rated themselves as improved in a global assessment.
I have previously posted about the apparent cardiovascular support benefits of curcumin and how these benefits have been compared to the benefits of exercise.
